AIX plans to release soon an HDVD featuring the Chamber Music Palisades ensamble playing Shostakovich, Debussy, and a new piece by southern Californian Jane Brockman. This will be a demo-quality recording exhibiting the highest standards of artistic prowess, recording engineering, and disc authorship.
Naxos USA indicates that Medici Arts during 2010 will release in HDVD the Mahler 1st Symphony and the Mahler 4th Symphony performed by the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under the baton of Claudio Abbado. There is a long-range plan to release in HDVD all 9 Mahler Symphonies by Abbado and the LSO.
Decca announced a Cenerentola, but then it appears the release date was pushed back indefinitely. There was also talk last year that Decca will announce a Handel Partonope and a Handel Agrippina in 2010, but nothing has been announced. Let's hope Decca doesn't abandon HDVD completely (as sister-firm Deutsche Grammophon has done).
