Stars Lianna Haroutounian (Leonora), Gregory Kunde (Manrico), Anita Rachvelishvili (Azucena), Vitaliy Bilyy (Luna), and Alexander Tsymbalyuk (Ferrando), Francesca Chiejina (Inez), Samuel Sakker (Ruiz). Richard Farnes conducts the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Royal Opera Chorus. Set and video design by Patrick Bannwart; costume design by Meentje Nielsen; lighting design by Olaf Winter and associate Nick Havell. Directed for TV by Bridget Caldwell. Sung in italian. Released 2018, disc has 5.1 dts-HD Master Audio sound. Grade: NA

Mark Mardel, writing in the May 2019 Opera News at pages 55-56 has trouble with the staging. But he is generally well-impressed by the conducting and the singing and gives this a Critic’s Choice award. Below is a YT clip giving you some idea about the wild designs. (There were 4 different casts, so we don't know for sure if the singers shown here are the same as on the Blu-ray disc. But the clip illustrates what was bothering Mardel. You might want to do further research before springing for this as there are a number of other choices in Blu-ray. If you have seen this disc, we would love to hear from you.
