This came out in in 2011 in a DVD. It was controversial because Carsen set his version in modern times with an overlay reinterpreting the role of Tosca. In the December 2014 Gramophone (page 108), Hugo Shirley notes the dangers of tinkering with the lean lines of Puccini's detective story, but Shirley generally approves of Carsen's "impressionic" take. Shirley also praises the singing and acting of the stars, but he wasn't happy with the orchestra. So if you have enough traditional versions of Tosca on your shelf, you might enjoy this alternate approach.
